Meet Our Providers

Denny Cash

LCSW

Before moving forward in our work together, I want to share a bit about myself and how my own identities and experiences shape the lens I bring into the therapy room. I believe therapy is not only informed by training but also by who we are as people—the cultures, histories, and communities we come from, as well as the privileges and struggles we carry.

I identify as a White, queer man in my early thirties. I was born and raised in Missouri and now live and practice in Jefferson City, where I founded Still Point Therapy, a private psychotherapy practice rooted in trauma-informed, systems-oriented, and holistic values. My practice is shaped by my training as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and by my commitment to decolonizing mental health care, cutting through the noise of societal expectations, and creating spaces where people can access what I call their “still point.”

Being from the Midwest, I carry both the grounding of small-town community and the challenges of navigating conservative cultural landscapes as a queer person. These experiences influence how I think about belonging, resilience, and identity. Spiritually, I am drawn to Pagan and earth-centered practices, along with astrology and intuitive work. I integrate these not as prescriptions, but as personal ways of connecting to meaning, cycles, and the unseen threads of human experience. They inform the way I hold curiosity and wonder about the multiple parts of ourselves, and how we are shaped by both personal and collective forces.

Professionally, my focus is on working with trauma survivors, people with ADHD, emerging adults, adults navigating life transitions, and therapists themselves. I am deeply invested in the intersections of neuroscience, social justice, and lived experience. My clinical lens holds that oppression is not separate from mental health—it weaves itself into how people experience safety, belonging, and freedom. I am also deeply committed to supervision and collective learning, especially in working with practicum students and provisionally licensed therapists. I believe in fostering a space where new clinicians feel supported, challenged, and empowered to grow in their own practice. This process of collective learning is central to creating an environment of shared knowledge, continuous growth, and healing for both clients and therapists alike.

At the same time, I am aware of the privileges I hold: as a cisgender man, as someone with advanced education and professional status, and as a person with the freedom to shape my work around my values. These privileges can open doors but can also create blind spots. My intention is to remain open to dialogue about how our similarities or differences—whether around race, gender, class, sexuality, spirituality, or other identities—might support or complicate our work together.

Outside of therapy, I am a creative and reflective person. I write, journal, and design materials for my practice, weaving together psychology, spirituality, and art. I spend time with my dog (who reminds me daily about presence and patience) and ground myself in tending to my home and yard. My partner and I also love to travel, seeking out opportunities to experience different cultures and expand our perspectives. I hold a deep value for community, even as I continue my own journey of finding spaces of authentic belonging.

I share all of this not to center myself, but to invite dialogue. If at any point my identities, values, or blind spots create tension or raise questions, I welcome you to bring this into our work. I believe naming these intersections strengthens trust, deepens honesty, and opens the way for authentic healing.

Let's see if we are the right fit.

At Still Point, we start with a free 15-minute consultation to ensure that you and your therapist are a good match. Once paired, you’ll go through a comprehensive assessment that looks at your biological, psychological, social, and spiritual background. This helps us understand your needs and guide your treatment.

Together, you and your therapist will create a personalized treatment plan, selecting the therapeutic approaches that will best support you in reaching your mental health goals.

This is where the real work begins. Your therapist will use evidence-based techniques, walking with you every step of the way on your journey to wellness.

When you’ve reached your goals, you’ll work with your therapist to bring your sessions to a close.

Whether you're with us for one session or for a longer therapy journey, Still Point understands that life’s changes can bring you in and out of therapy at different times. We're here for you whenever you need us.
