Frequently Asked Questions
What are your core values?
Holistic Presence
At Still Point Therapy, we embrace the ‘still point’ within the turning world, fostering a therapeutic environment where individuals can find a sense of calm and balance amidst life’s fluctuations. We honor the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit.
Authenticity and Responsibility
We value authenticity and candor, striving to be genuine in every interaction. We believe in being honest about who we are and sharing our true thoughts and feelings, even when it’s uncomfortable. Taking responsibility is key to personal growth. By acknowledging our actions, emotions, and the impact we have on others, we create space for healing and transformation.
Timeless Healing and Inner Freedom
Inspired by the idea that “only through time, time is conquered,” we guide individuals on a journey through their past, present, and future, helping them to heal from within and embrace the fullness of their experiences. Upholding the value of ‘inner freedom from the practical desire,’ we empower individuals to release themselves from internal and external compulsions and cultivate genuine autonomy.
Resilience and Movement
We recognize that true healing involves both stillness and motion. Our approach integrates mindful awareness with proactive steps toward personal growth, ensuring a dynamic and evolving therapeutic process.
Depth and Joy
We understand that deep, meaningful work is essential, but we also embrace the importance of humor and lightness. We value the full spectrum of human experience, from profound insights to moments of levity, finding a balance between seriousness and playfulness.
Conscious and Connected Awareness
Understanding that ‘to be conscious is not to be in time,’ we encourage individuals to cultivate present-moment awareness. We help individuals achieve greater clarity and insight into their lives through mindfulness and reflective practices. We also believe in the power of interdependence, recognizing that our actions affect those around us and are influenced by the systems we are embedded in, creating positive ripple effects that benefit everyone involved.
How long do sessions last?
At Still Point Therapy, sessions are typically booked for a therapeutic hour (50 minutes). This duration allows enough time for meaningful work while giving your therapist a few moments between sessions to jot notes, reflect, and reset— because even therapists need a breath between deep conversations.
In some cases, your therapist may recommend a 90-minute session when additional time feels clinically helpful. Please note that insurance plans generally only cover up to 60 minutes per session; any time beyond that would be billed privately, and additional costs may apply.
To help make mental healthcare more accessible, 30- and 45-minute sessions are also available. These shorter options can work well for private pay clients who prefer more flexibility, though they’re also available to insured clients when clinically appropriate.
How much does therapy/counseling cost?
The cost of therapy at Still Point ranges from $50 to $150 per session, depending on the provider’s experience and licensure. We strive to offer options that suit different needs and budgets.
Still Point Therapy is in-network with most major insurance providers, which may help reduce your out-of-pocket costs.
If your provider is not in-network with your insurance plan, Still Point can provide a SuperBill—an itemized receipt that you can submit to your insurance company to access potential out-of-network reimbursement.
We also offer a sliding scale to help make therapy more accessible. If you’re interested in this option, please ask about the criteria to qualify during your consultation—your therapist will review eligibility and available rates with you.

Do you take insurance?
Still Point Therapy is in-network with most major insurance providers. Network status may vary depending on your therapist’s licensure and individual provider contracts, so coverage can differ slightly between clinicians.
To help us verify your benefits and provide accurate information, please upload a copy of your insurance card to the client portal at least 48 hours before your consultation. During your consultation, your therapist will review your coverage details and discuss the cost of therapy specific to your plan, so you’ll know exactly what to expect before beginning ongoing sessions.
Do you offer a sliding scale?
At Still Point Therapy, we understand that financial circumstances vary, so we offer counseling rates that adjust according to your gross household income. We ask for proof of income prior to your initial session to ensure equitable pricing. Additionally, working with our advanced practicum students allows us to offer sessions at a lower cost. Feel free to ask about these options when scheduling your first appointment.
